5. Conclusions
These preliminary results suggest a relationship between TASC training and classroom practices. The most frequently reported classroom science activities as reported by the students were correlated to a small degree to student achievement level, but many unanswered questions remain regarding how often these practices occurred and if these activities were kit activities. For instance, a teacher may include a substantial amount of science activities in classroom instruction but the activities may not be kit activities. Underlying effects may be present, plus teacher training may have an effect within subpopulations of the data. Interactions of other variables may be having an effect on the outcomes of this study warranting additional analysis beyond these preliminary studies.
